The Ferrari SF21 was the Scuderia's challenger for the 2021 season. After a challenging 2020 season, the fans were hoping that the team would be able to turn it around.
The 2021 season saw Ferrari exceed the Tifosi’s expectations of the team, as Ferrari’s youngest driver pairing since 1968 managed to take a commendable total of 5 podium finishes across the season, in addition to the two pole positions that Leclerc managed and several fastest laps for the season. At the end of the season Ferrari finished 3rd in the constructors’ championship. This marked a vast improvement on the difficulties of 2020, as the team scored nearly 200 points more than the season before.
Charles Leclerc has been Ferrari’s prodigy for many years, having joined the Ferrari Junior Driver Academy back in 2016. Leclerc won the GP3 and F2 in back-to-back rookie seasons before getting prtomoted to the Alfa Romeo Sauber team for 2018. After just a single season of F1 was plenty for Ferrari to see that Leclerc deserved to be racing the scarlet red F1 car. In 2019 Leclerc lined up alongside Sebastian Vettel in and it was Charles Leclerc who took Ferrari’s first win of the season, not his four-time World Champion teammate. Leclerc has been racing for Ferrari ever since and currently has a multi-year deal with the team.
This model is a perfect 1:8 scale model of the exact one that Leclerc raced in 2021 and is the perfect way to celebrate the Monegasque driver’s achievements across the season that saw Ferrar’s resurgence.
