Sergio Perez 2021 Oracle Red Bull Racing Race Used Wheel Rim Table

 2021 marked Sergio Perez's first season with the Milton Keynes based Red Bull Racing team - and what an opening season it was! 

The Mexican Maestro proved his incredible worth time and time again, with sensational drives that provided the ultimate assist to his teammate in one of the tightest fought championships of all time!

Checo took his best win at the 2021 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, where the Mexican had to contest with plenty of adversity on his way to taking a crucial 25 points - whilst holding off Hamilton.

Perez also earned himself the nickname "Mexican Minister of Defence" for his unbelievable holding off of Hamilton during several races throughout the season.

This iconic season in Sergio Perez's. Red Bull's, and Formula One's history will stay in the hearts and memories of many real fans for decades to come - standing out as one of the most entertaining season in history. 

With a blockbuster finish reminiscent of 2012, 2008, 1998 & 1988 - this is a moment in history that few will forget. 

Well this is a piece of the action. This is a race used Wheel Rim from Checo Perez's 2021 RB16B - a significant piece of the multi-million dollar car. 

Whilst it may seem like a mere lump of metal - this is one of the most over-engineered piece on the car. The wheel rim can affect the performance of the brakes, tyres, tyre lifespan and the overall handling of the car - if the wheel is designed badly or made from the wrong materials the team could be leaving seconds of performance on the track.

This wheel rim is made from forged magnesium alloy to make it as light as possible as the 'unsprung' weight (IE any weight not supported by the suspension) makes a dramatic impact on the overall handling, and because the magnesium is best for heat management. 

All of the ridges on the wheel rim are there for performance, not so that it looks cool in your living room. These also help to manage the heat. The incredible stopping power of the Carbon-Carbon brakes, that sit mere inches from the tyres, can generate temperatures of up to 1,000°C and this would simply melt the rubber. The tyres have a very thin optimum operating window - and without these very perfectly designed ridges the drivers job would be even harder to keep the tyre in that window.

The final over-engineered piece of the car is the wheel-nut. An Aluminium alloy that is perfectly designed to make pitstops as efficient as possible. The team need to be able to lock the wheel into place at a very specific torque setting within a matter of tenths of seconds and this is not possible without these wheel nuts. 

This is an incredible piece of engineering brilliance from Checo's inaugural season with Red Bull Racing - and with a simple sheet of glass over the top of it - it is now a perfect little table for you to use everyday. After you've spent hours marveling at every little detail.
